Sisters of Providence share how they feel about Providence Associates: They give us hope for fresh energy and prophetic wisdom. They give hope for all of us now and into the future united for mission. Providence Associates give us all a greater appreciation of what Providence means. Sisters of Providence and Providence Associates celebrated 10 years in relationship with a celebration Nov. 17-19, 2017, at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana. Enjoy these photos from the days filled with laughter, prayer, good companionship and fun.

I find strength in the passages written by Mother Theodore that are oft quoted and perhaps even more so in the lesser-known stories of her day-to-day life. She walked the grounds of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods and cared so much for the fledgling school, its students and the teachers. I believe that her prayers are still with us and perhaps with me in a special way because I now watch over the school that she created.

I don't know that I have profound ideas about “thin times” as much as I have great curiosity and now new terminology to describe moments when it seems the veil is most sheer between the living and those who have passed. Between two hearts who hear each other's song. For those times when the divine shines through the eyes of those in our midst and pierces the heart.
