We’d love to get to know you. Check out these opportunities!

Come and See weekend retreats

You can get a first-hand look at life as a Sister of Providence at our twice-yearly Come and See weekend retreats. Spend time in prayer, meet the newest members of the Congregation and ask any questions you have. Single, Catholic women ages 18-42 are invited to attend. Check back here soon for more information about our upcoming spring 2021 spring Come and See retreat.

Community Immersion Experience

Can’t make the weekend retreat or don’t want to wait that long? No problem! Schedule a “community immersion” overnight experience. Women ages 18-42 are invited to attend a one-night get-to-know-us stay at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods. Your stay might include a tour of the motherhouse grounds, a chance to get to know our foundress Saint Mother Theodore Guerin, a visit to White Violet Center for Eco-Justice (and our herd of alpacas!) or prayer time in the beautiful Blessed Sacrament Chapel. Bring a friend or even a small group. Room and meals can be provided. To arrange your visit to the Woods, contact Sister Joni Luna at 361-500-9505 or jluna@spsmw.org.

Eco-Justice internships

Slow down. Listen. Connect. Get in touch with your deeper self as an intern at White Violet Center for Eco-Justice at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana. Live and work among the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods for 3, 6 or 12 months as an intern at White Violet Center, a ministry of the Sisters of Providence. Spend time in our organic gardens, with our herd of alpacas or specializing in fiber arts. If you wish, you can make discerning a call to religious life one of  your internship goals. Get a closer look at the life and mission of the Sisters of Providence from whatever place you feel comfortable. Get details about internships at White Violet Center for Eco-Justice here.
