Faithfulness and God’s mission: a Foundation Day reflection
I find strength in the passages written by Mother Theodore that are oft quoted and perhaps even more so in the lesser-known stories of her day-to-day life. She walked the grounds of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods and cared so much for the fledgling school, its students and the teachers. I believe that her prayers are still with us and perhaps with me in a special way because I now watch over the school that she created.
Thin times and profound connection
I don't know that I have profound ideas about “thin times” as much as I have great curiosity and now new terminology to describe moments when it seems the veil is most sheer between the living and those who have passed. Between two hearts who hear each other's song. For those times when the divine shines through the eyes of those in our midst and pierces the heart.

Singing for the sisters
The most touching duet was that of Rod and Sister Terese Marie Havlik, Rod’s 8th grade teacher, whom he hadn’t seen in almost 49 years. Sister Terese Marie knew every word, sang and moved gently to the music.
Unity and difference: blessings of engagement for local church members and the Sisters of Providence
To date, 11 members of Central Christian Church have become Providence Associates or are candidates, including the pastor! Karen Sagraves says many synergies exist between Central Christian Church and the Sisters of Providence. “We’re both very inclusive, related to ecumenical issues and relationships with others. We’re both justice-oriented and progressive.”
