Our Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods are passionate about serving God by caring for all God’s creation, especially those most in need. We serve in many ways, from education to social justice, parish ministry, hospital ministry, serving the economically poor, advocating for immigrants and for a healthy environment. Read how some of our sisters serve God and others through their ministries.

“Hurry, get out and give the motorcycle guy a card for the upcoming motorcycle blessing!” So, I jumped out and handed the rider the announcement of the “Motorcycle Blessing and Barbecue.” I hurried back to the car, just as the arms of the crossing went up and the lights stopped flashing.

Over the last few years, through Divine guidance, I have learned new approaches to life. I have picked up new practices that help me tend to my physical, emotional, mental and spiritual life. The Tending to Life retreat was born from this journey. I hope to offer what I have learned with others, so that they too may find Life even in the midst of suffering.

'May we be worthy of his legacy.'

Although Tracey’s enthusiasm for her ministry never waned, “the distance and separation from community and family had been hard. “We ... know Sister Jenny as a faithful daughter of Providence, someone whose own life experiences, like your own, have called her to let go in order to let something new come. Thank you, Victory Noll Sisters, for inviting us into your lives."

Sister Jody O’Neil, SP, finds spirituality in creating works of art.
“Art is a connection of my spirit and the spirit beyond me,” she said.

A favorite quote of Sister Paula’s is from the Persian poet Hafiz: “True art makes the divine silence in the soul break into applause.”

It is the stories the sisters remember the most
