Saint Mother Theodore Guerin’s life reminds us that even in times of uncertainty and hardship, faith, courage and trust in Providence can guide us forward.
Our day together
We’re excited to welcome you to Saint Mary-of-the-Woods to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the canonization of our foundress, Saint Mother Theodore Guerin. Here are a few important details to help you:
The pilgrimage through the sacred grounds of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, where Mother Theodore lived and ministered, begins promptly at 9:30 a.m. Please arrive early to allow time to park, check in, register and walk to the starting point. If you haven’t preregistered, that’s okay! Please come to the check-in table.
Golf cars with limited seating will be available for those with mobility concerns.
Upon arrival, please go to the front of the Church of the Immaculate Conception to pick up a pilgrimage program and a special anniversary gift.
The pilgrimage will take place outdoors, however, it will be moved indoors if there is inclement weather. Please dress in appropriate attire for the weather.
After the pilgrimage, there will be a Liturgical Eucharist (Mass) at 11 a.m. in the Church of the Immaculate Conception.
Afterwards, enjoy a picnic-style lunch in O’Shaughnessy Hall. Outdoor picnic tables will also be available.
After lunch, you’re welcome to remain on the grounds and explore the Shrine of Saint Mother Theodore Guerin and the sacred spaces of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods at your own pace.
We’re so glad you’ll be joining us for this special anniversary celebration! We look forward to a beautiful day of pilgrimage, prayer, celebration and Providence.
