Guerin Prep High School
When sending your children off to high school, it’s important that you know they’ll have a safe and supportive environment in which to gain a quality education. Guerin Prep High School on the northwest side of Chicago and surrounding suburbs, can provide that environment. Guerin Prep is a sponsored institution of the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods. Formerly Mother Theodore Guerin High School (MTGHS), the school was founded in 1962 in River Grove, Illinois, to educate girls. In the fall of 2004, in response to a request from the Archdiocese of Chicago, a new chapter in Guerin history began when, with the closing of Holy Cross High School on property adjoining MTGHS, young men were welcomed to Guerin for the first time.
The name was changed to Guerin College Preparatory High School (Guerin Prep). Guerin Prep remains dedicated to developing the unique potential of its diverse student body through an extensive academic curriculum, excellent administrative and instructional staffs and through its Catholic faith, service and extracurricular programs.
