Our Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods are passionate about serving God by caring for all God’s creation, especially those most in need. We serve in many ways, from education to social justice, parish ministry, hospital ministry, serving the economically poor, advocating for immigrants and for a healthy environment. Read how some of our sisters serve God and others through their ministries.

'I have grown to see all of who I am as a gift, even the harder parts.'

We began this ministry in response to our many friends wanting to find a meaningful and sacred space for their final resting place.

'There's a feeling inside of you that you can't express but you know it's there.'

'I love being able to make Saint Mary-of-the-Woods more inviting.'

Ann was raised with a love of the land.

'I watched a man die.'

The philosophy behind 'an eye for an eye' was never expected to become a justice weapon for literal use.

'Let us be astonishing, sisters.'

'One of the goals is to provide healthy and nutritious foods to persons who might not otherwise be able to obtain.'
