Welcome to our blog. Here, we will share with you stories of our lives as Sisters of Providence. We invite Providence Associates to write in this space also. We hope you find these posts enjoyable and inspirational.

'We leave when people either stop coming or the food runs out.'

When a person is called to be a Sister of Providence, and responds to that call, beautiful things happen. The sister has time to really focus on and grow in God. She is led to look deeply at herself and grow in ways she never thought possible.

Mary’s own words in her Magnificat provide some answer: “from now on all generations will call me blessed.” We gather precisely because we are part of the present generation who wishes to call her blessed.

I was a Sister of Providence for 33 years. For me, being a Sister of Providence was a transformative experience.

'And we stand with you, Anna, as you continue to follow the path of Providence, as you continue to surrender and trust that God will make a miracle in your life.'

The open house is a great opportunity for those who have not yet signed up to volunteer for the sisters

“Hurry, get out and give the motorcycle guy a card for the upcoming motorcycle blessing!” So, I jumped out and handed the rider the announcement of the “Motorcycle Blessing and Barbecue.” I hurried back to the car, just as the arms of the crossing went up and the lights stopped flashing.

Over the last few years, through Divine guidance, I have learned new approaches to life. I have picked up new practices that help me tend to my physical, emotional, mental and spiritual life. The Tending to Life retreat was born from this journey. I hope to offer what I have learned with others, so that they too may find Life even in the midst of suffering.

'Let the majestic power of Christ's resurrection beat out its rhythmic change in our own spirits.'
How are we moving toward a holistic understanding of Love, Mercy and Justice?

This statement and call to action was prepared by representatives of several religious communities

'I enjoy (volunteering) because I felt like I was helping the sisters out and making a difference.'
