Sister Jessica Vitente

Jessica Vitente of Pomona, California entered the Sisters of Providence as a postulant on Sept. 10, 2018. She received the title of Sister on Aug. 3, 2019, as she entered the novitiate. Sister Jessica professed first vows in 2021. Sister Jessica's current ministry is a graduate student at Loyola University of Chicago. Her area of focus is Pastroal Counseling. Prior to that, she ministered for the Diocese of Evansville serving University of Evansville as the Catholic Campus Minister for the Newman Center.

Stepping forward to become a Sister of Providence

Postulant life was an experience that welcomed me to jump into a new lifestyle with both feet. The past ten months hsave been an opportunity to get to know myself a little more deeply. I have been able to work on areas of my life that I deeply desired to mold but never made a priority, such as my prayer life.

Simbang Gabi expresses the faith of Filipinos who share the same core belief with all Christians, namely, that God resides in human society. It is a great way for children of God from various cultures to come together as one body of the Church.
