Celebrating 70 Years of Friendship

The Immaculata Class of ’74 Reunites in Bethany Beach

Some friendships only grow stronger with time, and the Immaculata Preparatory School Class of 1974 continues to prove just that!

As part of their year-long celebration of turning 70, classmates recently gathered at the beautiful Bethany Beach, Delaware, home of one of their own for a joyful reunion filled with laughter, good memories and gratitude.

The Immaculata gathering celebrated classmates with spring and summer birthdays and was one of several milestone events the class has planned throughout the year to honor this special occasion.

The evening offered a relaxed and welcoming space for alumnae to reconnect. Surrounded by laughter and hospitality, they spent hours reminiscing about their days at Immaculata, sharing stories and celebrating lifelong bonds first forged in the hallways of their beloved school.

A highlight of the evening was a video message from Sister Kathy French, SP, who taught during their time at Immaculata! As her voice filled the room, alumnae seemed transported back to their school days by her warmth and sincerity.

In her heartfelt message, she shared how meaningful it is to know they continue to gather, celebrate one another and remain connected after all these years. She reminded them that they will always hold a special place in her heart.

One fun-filled moment came when the group joined together to sing an Immaculata song to the tune of “Oklahoma.” Their voices filled with exuberance and delight, sang out, “Immaculata, where the Nuns came sweepin’ down the halls. All the girls would dash, to get to class, before demerits came our way!”, bringing back treasured memories and reflecting the affection they still hold for their alma mater.

While much has changed since they graduated in 1974, one thing remains the same: The enduring friendships fostered by a shared education rooted in the values of the Sisters of Providence.

Decades after graduation, these women continue to support and celebrate each other through every season of life. The Class of 1974 exemplifies faith, service and connection.

This celebration is another reminder that Immaculata was more than a school; it is a lifelong community! Whether gathering for milestone birthdays, reunions or simply lunch, the Class of 1974 shows that connections made as students continue to enrich their lives more than 50 years after graduation.

Congratulations to the Immaculata Class of 1974 on this remarkable milestone. May the laughter, love and cherished memories shared carry forward into their next celebration and the rest of their lives!

Happy 70th birthday to an extraordinary class!

Hats off to thee!
