Scenes from the 2026 Providence Associates’ Spring Retreat
Providence Associates joined the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana, March 13-15 for the 2026 Providence Associates’ Spring Retreat.
The retreat, titled “Living Our Call Through Changing Times as Modeled by Saint Mother Theodore Guerin,” featured around a program led by Sister Paula Damiano, SP, and Sister Jan Craven, SP.
With wisdom and humor, Sisters Paula and Jan encouraged retreat attendees to embody Saint Mother Theodore Guerin’s strength, courage, and character as we live out our calling in an ever-changing world.
Mother Theodore’s words remind us that, at times, the way is not always clear, and we must grope along slowly. Faithfulness often comes one step at a time. Her steady trust in Providence and her sisters, despite uncertainty and limitations, showed how God works through imperfect progress and always remains faithful.
Mother Theodore’s spirituality was one of courageous tenderness. Each day, we are invited to follow her example by acting with honesty, leading with strength and kindness, holding boundaries with grace, and trusting boldly in our Provident God.
