The Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana, are inviting persons of all faith traditions to join them for the 2026 Way of the Cross for Justice prayer service.
The event will take place from 10:30-11:30 a.m., on Good Friday, April 3, in the Church of the Immaculate Conception at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods.

During the hour-long prayer service, participants will recall Jesus’ journey to the cross while intentionally uniting His path with the many justice struggles confronting the world today.
Join facilitators Sister Barbara Battista, SP, and Margarita Solis-Deal through prayer, reflection and communal presence, as we are invited to contemplate suffering, hope and our call to compassionate action.
Traditionally, the Stations of the Cross offer people a spiritual pilgrimage of prayer – creating sacred space for reflection, memory and response as they meditate on the scenes of Christ’s suffering and death.
The practice of walking the Stations to commemorate the Passion of the Christ is said to have begun with Saint Francis of Assisi, whose devotion helped shape this enduring expression of faith.
There is no cost to attend the prayer service, but freewill donations will be accepted.
