We Look Forward to Seeing You This Jubilee Year!
We’re nearly six months into the Catholic Jubilee 2025: Pilgrims of Hope, the theme the late Pope Francis declared on Christmas Eve 2024.
As a result, the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, under the guidance of Archbishop Charles Thompson, declared four pilgrimage sites within the Archdiocese, including the Church of the Immaculate Conception and Shrine of Saint Mother Theodore Guerin at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods.

The remaining two pilgrimage sites in the Archdiocese are Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral in Indianapolis and Saint Meinrad Archabbey Church in St. Meinrad, located just south of Jasper.
Eager to Meet You
Sisters of Providence General Superior Sister Dawn Tomaszewski recently commented that the Sisters of Providence are eager to visit with the pilgrims they encounter this year.
“We hope that by welcoming pilgrims into this sacred space, we will enable them to encounter God in new ways and be filled with hope that God is truly present with us and with our world,” Sister Dawn said.
If you haven’t had a chance to experience Saint Mary-of-the-Woods at all or have not been here in a while to walk in the footsteps of Saint Mother Theodore Guerin, we welcome you with open arms.

Pilgrim Itineraries
We have created a pilgrimage itinerary for 20 people or fewer that all may use when they visit Saint Mary-of-the-Woods this year.
The itinerary includes visits to indoor sacred spaces, including the Shrine and Church as well as the Blessed Sacrament Chapel and National Shrine of Our Lady Providence. Following Mass on Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Communion Service on Fridays (there is no Mass on Mondays or Saturdays), pilgrims are invited to lunch.
Pilgrims can arrange lunch with our onsite caterer who offers a variety of options and price points. If pilgrims prefer, they can also bring their own lunch to eat in one of our available rooms or outside picnic style, weather permitting.
Following the lunch, the itinerary continues with visits to outdoor sacred spaces such as the Saint Mother Theodore Guerin bronze statue, Log Cabin Chapel, Convent Cemetery and St. Anne Shell Chapel, which is currently being restored.
Pilgrims then have many individual choices following the outdoor tour, including private meditation at any of the sacred spaces, walking in the Congregation’s Labyrinth, visiting the White Violet Center for Eco-Justice Farm, Linden Leaf Gifts or White Violet Farm Store.
The itinerary also includes tour visits for Saturdays and Sundays. Pilgrims and visitors are always welcome to create their own experience and explore at their leisure. Guided pilgrimages are available but must be arranged in advance. Donations would be appreciated for guided tours.
