Eleven Sisters of Providence celebrate Jubilees

Ten Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods recently celebrated their 50th anniversary as members of the Congregation. They are Sisters Carole Ann Fedders, Mary Beth Klingel, Constance Kramer, Mary Mundy, Rosemary Nudd, Loretta Picucci, Barbara Reder, Joan Slobig, Marsha Speth and Ann Sullivan.

In addition, one Sister of Providence, Sister Mary Ryan, recently celebrated her 25th anniversary as a member of the Congregation.

25-year Jubilarian

Sister Mary is a native of Salem, Mass. She currently ministers as a Congregation archivist at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods.

Sister Mary, the former Sister Elizabeth, entered the Congregation Aug. 16, 1989, from St. John the Baptist, Peabody, Mass. She professed perpetual vows July 20, 1996.

She graduated from Salem State University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She received her master’s degree in library and information sciences from Dominican University, Illinois.

Sister Mary has ministered in Indiana, Illinois and Massachusetts.

50-year Jubilarians

Sister Carole Ann is a native of New Albany, Ind. She currently ministers in care at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods.

Sister Carole Ann, the former Sister Joseph Marie, entered the Congregation Sept. 12, 1964, from Holy Spirit, Louisville, Ky. She professed perpetual vows Oct. 29, 1972.

She graduated from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She received her master’s degree in education from Indiana University.

Sister Carole Ann has ministered in Indiana, Michigan and St. Louis.

Sister Mary Beth is a native of Jasper. She is currently a member of the General Council for the Sisters of Providence.

Sister Mary Beth, the former Sister Mary Hope, entered the Congregation Sept. 12, 1964, from St. Joseph, Jasper. She professed perpetual vows Sept. 6, 1970.

She graduated from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College with a bachelor’s degree in education. She received her master’s degree in liturgical studies from the University of Notre Dame.

Sister Mary Beth has ministered in Indiana

Sister Constance is a native of Dayton, Ohio. She currently ministers as a retreat/spiritual director/grief specialist in Indianapolis.

Sister Constance entered the Congregation Sept. 12, 1964, from Holy Angels, Dayton, Ohio. She professed perpetual vows Oct. 4, 1970.

Sister Constance, the former Sister Marita, graduated from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. She received her master’s degree in mathematics from Indiana State University, and earned her master of arts in pastoral ministry from Trinity College, Washington, D.C.

Sister Constance has ministered in Indiana and Illinois.

Sister Mary is a native of Huntingburg. She currently ministers as a pastoral associate at Holy Rosary Church, Evansville.

Sister Mary, the former Sister Jolene, entered the Congregation Sept. 12, 1964, from St. Celestine, Celestine, Ind. She professed perpetual vows Oct. 7, 1973.

Sister Mary graduated from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College with a bachelor’s degree in education. She received her master’s degree in education from Indiana University and earned her master of arts degree in pastoral studies from the Aquinas Institute of Theology.

Sister Mary has ministered in Indiana.

Sister Rosemary is a native of Chicago. She currently ministers as an Associate Professor of English at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College.

Sister Rosemary, the former Sister Elizabeth Mary, entered the Congregation Sept. 12, 1964, from St. Joseph, Downers Grove, Ill. She professed perpetual vows Aug. 25, 1973.

She graduated from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College with a bachelor’s degree in English. She earned her master’s degree and doctorate in English from Vanderbilt University.

Sister Rosemary has ministered in Indiana, Tennessee, St. Louis and Illinois.

Sister Loretta is a native of Chicago. She currently ministers in Hispanic ministry at Providence in the Desert, Coachella, Calif.

Sister Loretta entered the Congregation Sept. 12, 1964, from St. Daniel Prophet, Chicago. She professed perpetual vows April 24, 1976.

She graduated from Loyola University with a bachelor’s degree in Latin.

Sister Loretta has ministered in Indiana, Washington, D.C., Illinois, Mississippi and California.

Sister Barbara is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio. She currently ministers as a pastoral associate at St. Malachy Parish, Brownsburg.

Sister Barbara, the former Sister Alexa Marie, entered the Congregation Sept. 12, 1964, from St. Vivian, Cincinnati, Ohio. She professed perpetual vows Dec. 27, 1975.

She graduated from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College with a bachelor’s degree in home economics. She received her master’s in public health from UCLA. She received her master’s in pastoral ministry from Seattle University.

Sister Barbara has ministered in Indiana, California and Washington.

Slobig_Joan

Sister Joan is a native of Homewood, Ill. She currently ministers as a parish life coordinator at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods.

Sister Joan, the former Sister Denis Mary, entered the Congregation Sept. 12, 1964, from St. Joseph, Homewood, Ill. She professed perpetual vows May 3, 1975.

She graduated from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. She received her master’s degree in English from Indiana State University. She earned a degree in clinical psychology from Pontifical Gregorian University, Rome, Italy, and earned her master of arts in theology from the Washington Theological Union.

Sister Joan has ministered in Indiana, Washington, D.C., and Illinois.

Speth_Marsha

Sister Marsha is a native of Vincennes. She currently ministers as the director of postulants in the United States/spiritual director at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods.

Sister Marsha, the former Sister Marcia Ann, entered the Congregation Sept. 12, 1964, from St. John the Baptist, Vincennes. She professed perpetual vows Nov. 9, 1974.

She graduated from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College with a bachelor’s degree in education. She received her master’s degree in religious education from Seattle University.

Sister Marsha has ministered in Indiana and Illinois.

Sister Ann is a native of Galesburg, Ill. She currently minister as an assistant professor in psychology/theology at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College.

Sister Ann, the former Sister John Margaret, entered the Congregation Sept. 12, 1964. She professed perpetual vows Oct. 13, 1973.

She graduated from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods with a bachelor’s degree in education. She received her master of arts in counseling and psychology from Illinois State University, and her doctorate in Pastoral Counseling from the Graduate Theological Foundation.

Sister Ann has ministered in Indiana, Illinois and Oklahoma.
