


Ecospirituality has been defined as “a manifestation of the spiritual connection between human beings and the environment.” As members of one sacred Earth community, the Sisters of Providence have committed themselves individually and communally to care for our resources and to make decisions regarding their current and future use as they seek to balance their individual and SP communal economic needs with the sustainability needs of Earth community.

This commitment is made in love, mercy and justice, knowing that we are participating in God’s Providential work of transformation, and trusting in “that Providence that so far has never failed us.”

This process will reinvigorate the existing growth

Indeed, The Woods “is like our mother, a sacred place, a gift to us humans from the divine. It is a paradise of healing.”

We wanted to share this prayer from Season of Creation, the organization’s 2021 World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, which is September 1, 2021.

I hope you have an opportunity to meet some of them!

We owe one another a better world. We should listen to each other to find out how we can do that.

Let us pray for all farmers, laborers and gardeners who grow food for their families and for the peoples of the world

Through our joint effort with CCL, the hope is many will attend the May 1 meeting to learn more about this program proposal, and to show legislators across Indiana that communities are prepared to act to thwart climate change.

It can seem a bit daunting but there is still a path for us all to work together to heal our planet
