WVC to host ‘Alpaca Yoga’

Join the staff of White Violet Center for Eco-Justice (WVC), and others as they host the upcoming Alpaca Yoga, scheduled to take place from 10-11 a.m., on Saturday, April 12.

Shannon Hamilton, the athletic director for Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, as well as a certified yoga instructor at Common Ground in Terre Haute, will lead the free hour-long exercise.

The event is part of a collaboration between WVC and the Department of Sustainability at Indiana State University to celebrate the Earth throughout the entire month of April.

Those interested in attending are asked to register in advance. Those attending are asked to meet at the White Violet Center Farm Store at 9:45 a.m. From there, all will walk to the alpaca pasture and practice yoga for one hour among the alpacas.

Participants are asked to bring their own mat as well as a towel or blanket to place underneath the mat in addition to a water bottle. All participants must be 18 or older.

Those attending who are taking part in the collaboration’s “We are all in this together” raffle can earn a punch on their punch card to be eligible for a grand prize drawing at the conclusion of April.
