Sisters to host Book Study

This event has been canceled

Join the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana, for the upcoming book study “Do I Stay Christian?” by Brian McLaren.

Sisters Jan Craven and Paula Damiano will co-facilitate the in-person event, scheduled for April 3, 10, 17 and 24. Times are 9:30-11 a.m., in the Foley Room at Providence Spirituality & Conference Center and 7-8:30 p.m., in the Havlik Center at Providence Hall. Each daily session is the same.

Join Sister Jan and Sister Paula as they explore McLaren’s book, where he reasons to leave or stay within church and, if so, how? Participants will have an opportunity to explore the topic together.

“People are asking big questions about faith,” Sister Jan said. “For example, ‘Is God personal?’ ‘Does God intervene in the world?’ Rarely do we get a chance to relax and have time to read with a group of people seeking similar interests.

“Brian openly asks the question many Christians are asking themselves in private, but are afraid to ask in public.”

Cost to attend is $20 per session. Those interested in attending are asked to purchase a copy of the book and after registering, all will be told what to read before each session begins.
