Sisters of Providence invite guests to upcoming retreat

The Providence Community of Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana, and Providence Associates invite interested guests to attend the upcoming “The universe story: How do we fit?” spring retreat.

The retreat begins at 7 p.m., on March 15, and ends at 11 a.m., on March 17. It will take place in the Community Room of Providence Hall at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods.

Join us as Father Terry Johnson leads a reflection on our place in the universe and how we reach for the Divine within it. Spend time coming together for moments of reflection and conversation with the Sisters of Providence, Providence Associates and other guests attending as we all strive to listen to each other and come into a deeper relationship with the universe.

Religious thinkers Thomas Berry and Brian Swimme profess that diversity, communion and interiority are “the golden thread that holds the Universe together.” During the retreat, join others as we explore these concepts as invitation or all to be in relationship with each other and with all kin in the university, both human and otherwise.

Father Terry serves as Chaplain for the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana. Prior to coming to Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, he ministered as a high school theology teacher, a director of religious education, a pastor, spiritual director and as an adjunct instructor in spiritual direction at Loyola University in Chicago.

Cost to attend the retreat in person is $65, which includes three meals on Saturday, March 16, and a continental breakfast on Sunday, March 17. Cost to attend virtually is $25.

Housing must be arranged separately.
