White Violet Center for Eco-Justice has received a $10,000 grant from the Wabash Valley Community Foundation toward the purchase of a refrigerated vehicle capable of keeping a steady, cool temperature to support safe food handling practices during the delivery process of our organic produce to various cities, towns, institutions and restaurants in our area.
On #GivingTuesday, you helped us raise an additional $2,000 towards our goal.
We are asking you to help us raise the rest of the funds to complete the purchase.
Help give a van to White Violet Center!
Transporting these tasty morsels and having them remain fresh until we reach our destinations, has become a “hot” topic. The temperature inside the box truck we have available to borrow will reach upwards of 80 degrees or more causing beautiful fruits and vegetables to wilt, spot and become roughage suitable only for animals or composting. The pickup truck we use for transporting compost is unsuitable for hauling produce as is our passenger van.
Not only is this a project of growing organic produce and making healthier options available to the consumer today, it goes hand-in-hand with teaching sustainable agriculture for tomorrow. We strongly believe in the preservation of earth’s resources and strive to ensure they will remain for future generations. You can help make our efforts worthwhile!
Make a donation today toward the purchase of this van! Help celebrate our 20th anniversary with a dream come true!
