Biography
Sister Alice, formerly Sister Julia Therese, was born April 1, 1933. She died on Feb. 24, 2015. She was 81 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 62 years.
Sister Alice entered the Congregation on July 22, 1952. She professed first and final vows on Jan. 23, 1955 and 1960, respectively.
Her teaching ministry began in 1955 at St. Angela, Chicago. She taught at other schools in Illinois, as well as Indiana, North Carolina, Massachusetts, Washington, D.C. and Florida. Her final teaching ministry began at St. Cecelia Interparochial School, Clearwater, Florida, in 2000. She returned home to the Woods in 2004.
Her family nickname was “Buzzy.”
