Early in the morning, Sister Lucy Lechner, SP, (formely Sister Mary Louis) sits on the porch of Providence Hall at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods. ...interns this season! Madeleine Beck, White Plains, NY Madeline Beck Madeleine has a B.A. in Astrophysics from Wellesley College, MA. She also has a Wilderness First Responder Certification from National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) and Wilderness Medicine Child/Adult CPR & Airway Management, Epinephrine Auto-Injector certifications. She also participated in a 30-day self-sufficient backpacking course in Wind River Range, WY, learning wilderness survival and first aid skills, as well as “leave no trace” practices. ...she became the team’s statistician. She also coached tennis and cross country for a while, but moved into the role of basketball officiating. In her officiating career, she had five sectional tournaments, five regional tournaments and three semi-states tournaments, a noteworthy achievement. She retired from that because of a broken ankle.
