God of unexpected gifts
God of Providence, you are a God of mystery and surprises.
Thank you for the times unexpected gifts have come my way:
when, on a difficult day, someone reaches out with words that are just what I needed to hear in that moment
when a friend pays a much-needed visit
when my energy and resources seem spent and a circle of colleagues offer their assistance
when healing and acceptance comes in a fractured relationship
when I am wrapped in darkness and suddenly a clear path to navigate brings a glimmer of hope
when ordinary people step in to address destructive social practices
when an elderly friend offers continued prayers, insight and wisdom.
Provident God, help me to loosen my grasp and share freely from what you have given me.
May my gratitude for unexpected gifts received spur me toward enthusiastic giving.
