Be with your healthcare workers, oh Lord

Be with us Lord as we come into your facility of care.
May we recognize the dignity and service of all your ministers of care
and respect all for their contributions to our healing.
For the housekeepers, who gather waste and contaminated products,
Keep them shielded of infection, oh Lord.
For the respiratory therapists who are expanding the lungs with oxygen,
May their breathing not be contaminated.
For the lab workers who draw blood for confirmation of illness,
Help them to find the vein that will reveal the truth.
For the dietary personnel who must keep the food palatable, delicious and protected,
May they taste the sweetness of appreciation.
For the engineers who repair, provide and clean up faulty machinery,
May they hear and see the functioning of energy working.
For the physical therapists who walk with the unstable to recovery,
May they always walk with their Creator.
For the doctors birthing, removing, repairing and studying,
May they listen to the needs of their patient and help heal.
For the nurses, who stand by the patient and minister to their needs,
May they feel Christ’s presence within and without.
For the spiritual ministers who listen to and hear the soul of their patients,
May they enlighten the soul’s need for recovery of spirit.
For all therapists, social workers, interpreters, speech and occupational therapists,
Show the way to recovery of health.
Almighty God, as they walk the halls of sickness, help them to be a healing presence
through the rhythm of contemplation and courageous action in all situations.
Amen.
