Dorothy Deal

…Sister Dorothy’s first teaching ministry was at St. Charles, Peru, Ind., in 1939. She ministered as a teacher or principal at many other schools in Indiana, as well as ministering in education in schools in Illinois, Massachusetts and Washington, D.C. She also ministered as a reading specialist in Chicago and from 1979 to 1986, Sister Dorothy ministered as coordinator of facilities at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College. She returned to the Woods in 1990. Sister Dorothy is remembered as being a perfectionist.

In 2011, Sister Margaret Louise was severely injured in an automobile accident. Her rescuer, EMT Andrew Powers, had been a student of hers. Nonetheless, she suffered a broken neck, broken bones, shattered pelvis and more, enduring long months of therapy.
