Biography

Sister Ann Kathleen was born Mary Kathleen on June 18, 1919. She died on March 12, 2010. She was 90 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 72 years.

Sister Ann Kathleen entered the Congregation on July 22, 1937. She professed first and final vows on Jan. 23, 1940 and 1946, respectively.

Sister Ann Kathleen began her teaching ministry in 1940, but in 1954, she came home to the Motherhouse to minister as assistant to the general secretary of the Congregation – a position she held until 1966. For 10 additional years, she ministered as general secretary – making the Archives Department one of her top priorities. She served as our Archivist from 1976 to 1991.

During her ministry as Archivist, along with the help of Sister Eugenia Logan, 136 years of Congregation history were organized and archived.
