We wanted to share this prayer from Season of Creation, the organization’s 2021 World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, which is September 1, 2021.

‘I want to deeply listen to my Provident God and the promptings of the Holy Spirit.’

Mother Theodore’s long letters have a common theme, loving one another. She advises Mary Xavier to “bear with the defects of others. Endeavor not to cause others to suffer, and you yourself try to endure the little annoyances which are unavoidable in the necessary relations with others.”

‘I had to undergo a makeover, which included shedding old, unuseful ideas that did not serve me spiritually.’

Here are some of the sites from the art exhibit “Stories from the Saint Mary-of-the-Woods Historic District,” now on display at the Swope Art Museum in Terre Haute.  

With the next year’s invite, I decided why not give the Providence Associates a try? My first visit to the Woods was astonishing. Once on the inside, there was a sense of peace. All of God’s disciples were welcoming, nice and full of love. That has become one of the best life-altering choices I’ve made.

Let us spend some time this week reflecting on how we are forming a loving relationship with God and others in our hearts and in our daily interactions.

Mother Theodore followed the death announcement with a telling of this young (aged 21) sister’s story. We learn that she lived her faith and her vocation in a most holy and virtuous way, and she approached her death with serenity.

In prayer this week, perhaps we can consider what words of Jesus are hardest for us to accept. Can we speak honestly with Jesus about them?
