WVC to host ‘Alpaca Encounter: From Farm to Fiber Art’
Join “Farmer Tara” and others from White Violet Center for Eco-Justice (WVC), a ministry of the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana, for the upcoming “Alpaca Encounter: From Farm to Fiber Art.”
The event will take place from 1-3 p.m., on Saturday, March 29, at the WVC alpaca barn at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods.

Visit the alpaca herd at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods while learning more about the origins of alpacas and why they are so beneficial to the WVC USDA-certified organic farm.
Come see and feel their sheared fiber while going step-by-step through the process that takes place after shearing, which includes skirting, carding and spinning as well as a hands-on demonstration on how to weave using a tabletop loom.
Enjoy learning more about other products made from alpaca fiber; an opportunity will be available for attendees to make their own felted ornament.
Cost is $25 and the registration deadline is March 27.
Register online or call 812-535-2932 or email wvc@spsmw.org.
