Sisters of Providence invite women to virtual mini-retreat

All single women ages 18-42 are invited to join the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana, for the upcoming virtual mini-retreat “Keeping the fires burning: Dealing with disappointment.”

The retreat will take place from 7-8 p.m., EDT, on Sunday, Jan. 14, 2024.

Join Sister Joni Luna, SP, who will lead all those attending on how to move toward more positive thinking, while discussing how God called people in the Bible despite their imperfections.

“Keeping a positive mind frame these days can be difficult for many reasons,” Sister Joni said. “For me, turning on the news and listening to what is happening in Ukraine and Russia, Israel and Palestine make me realize how blessed I really am.

“The poverty and discord in our own country and abroad, the crisis at our borders, and of course the trauma we are inflicting on our home Mother Earth is enough to make one feel that the world is falling apart and there is no reason to bother trying.”

Sister Joni will also discuss how serving others can lead to a life of greater gratitude.

“I will share some positive insights I have learned along my journey as a teacher, coach and a Sister of Providence that help me stay positive through the fires that rage in our life’s journey,” Sister Joni said. “It is not easy but together we can help one another see the light through the darkness.”

There is no cost to attend the mini-retreat and the registration deadline is January 13, 2024.
