May 8, 2022: Fourth Sunday of Easter

Gospel: John 10:27-30

Jesus said: “My sheep hear my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish. No one can take them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one can take them out of the Father’s hand. The Father and I are one.”

Reflection

Jesus tells us in today’s Gospel that he knows us. What a marvelous assurance to be known by the One Who loves us beyond all description.

And Jesus further declares that “no one can take (us) out of his hand.” So no matter how removed or distant we may feel because of our own inadequacies or challenging issues, Jesus is present with us, accompanying us through all of it until we surrender our last breath to Him.

Action

We continue to celebrate with Easter joy. Decide how you can communicate that joyfulness to those around you at home and wherever you are.
