light through trees

A poem inspired by spring at the Woods

Reserves

Did Trees stand tall at your arrival?
Did Wind whisper a welcome in your ear?
Did Chill awaken your senses?
Did Presence warm your heart?
Did Quiet grant you peacefulness?
Did Angels sing you to sleep?
Did Blossoms rouse your resilience?
Did Greening promise new life?
Did Bells chime with inspiration?
Did Future shed light on the path?
Did Her-story propel you forward?
Did She enliven your soul?
Did you soak it all in to the well of your heart,
Reserves to draw for the journey?

  1. Sheila, this is so beautiful; thank you!going to pass it on to Providence Associate Emma Contreras, who will come to the Woods this summer for the first time.

  2. This is it…..I have read and reread and read it again.
You have given us a trip to The Woods without leaving home.
This will be my new night prayer.
    Thank you, Sheila!

  3. Sheila
Thank you very much for the inspirations!
    Beauty here at The Woods.
    Beauty comes to me here,
    Wherever Presence.

  4. Sheila,

I loved your poem! I liked the series of questions you pose in each line that calls for my own reflection and response. “Yes” to all the gifts I receive in The Woods and take with me as “reserves” when I go.

    Thank you Sheila

    Cathy
