Get to know us

Come and See weekend retreats

You can get a first-hand look at life as a Sister of Providence at our twice-yearly Come and See weekend retreats. Spend time in prayer, meet the newest members of the Congregation and ask any questions you have. Single, Catholic women ages 18-42 are invited to attend.

Virtual prayer or mini-retreats

Join us throughout the year for virtual prayer and mini-retreat opportunities with the Sisters of Providence. You will have opportunity to get to know our spirituality and charism and to grow on your own spiritual journey. Join us from wherever you are!

Mission Immersion Experience

Can’t make the weekend retreat or don’t want to wait that long? No problem! Schedule a “mission immersion” overnight experience with our community. Women ages 18-42 are invited to come spend a few days with us at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods. Your stay might include a tour of the motherhouse grounds, a chance to get to know our foundress Saint Mother Theodore Guerin, Mass with the sisters in our breathtaking Church of the Immaculate Conception, a visit to White Violet Center for Eco-Justice (and our herd of alpacas!) or prayer time in the beautiful Blessed Sacrament Chapel. And of course there will be ample opportunity to spend time with our sisters and get to know the community. Bring a friend or even a small group. Room and meals can be provided. To arrange your visit to the Woods, contact Sister Joni Luna at 361-500-9505 or jluna@spsmw.org.

Eco-Justice internships

Slow down. Listen. Connect. Get in touch with your deeper self as an intern at White Violet Center for Eco-Justice at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana. Live and work among the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods for 3, 6 or 12 months as an intern at White Violet Center, a ministry of the Sisters of Providence. Spend time in our organic gardens, with our herd of alpacas or specializing in fiber arts. If you wish, you can make discerning a call to religious life one of  your internship goals. Get a closer look at the life and mission of the Sisters of Providence from whatever place you feel comfortable.
