Biography
Sister Rose Marita was born Margaret Mary on May 2, 1921. She died on March 19, 2017. She was 95 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 78 years.
Sister Rose Marita entered the Congregation on Jan. 5, 1939. She professed first and final vows on Aug. 15, 1941 and 1947, respectively.
She ministered as a teacher and principal at schools in Indiana, California, North Carolina and Washington, D.C., for more than 40 years. After “retiring,” she began a ministry at Woods Day Care/Pre-School and also ministered at Providence Spirituality & Conference Center and Linden Leaf Gifts for more than 11 years.
She was known for her famous Irish Soda Bread.
