Biography
Sister Pauline was born Janet Agnes Brockelsby on September 5, 1938, in Omaha, Nebraska. She died on July 13, 2018. She was 79 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 58 years.
Sister Pauline entered the Congregation on September 12, 1960, professing final vows on August 15, 1968.
She earned a bachelor’s degree from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College in journalism, while also receiving a master’s degree in Bible studies from Catholic University of America.
Her teaching ministry began in 1965 at Central Catholic High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She also taught at Our Lady of Providence High School in Clarksville, Indiana, while also teaching in New Hampshire and Virginia. Sister Pauline also ministered as a chaplain in hospitals in Illinois and California.
Sister Pauline was known for her energy and loved being around people.
