Sister Michael Therese Elliott

Biography

Sister Michael Therese was born Eileen Ruth Elliott on Dec. 25, 1927. She died on May 21, 2006. She was 78 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 60 years.

Sister Michael Therese entered the Congregation on Feb. 11, 1946. She professed first and final vows on Aug. 15, 1948 and 1953, respectively.

Sister Michael Therese began her teaching ministry in 1948 at St. Augustine, Fort Wayne, Ind. She also ministered at other schools in Indiana, as well as schools in Illinois, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maryland. In 2003, she returned to the Woods and volunteered in a variety of ways.

In 1999, she accompanied Sister Marie Kevin Tighe (RIP) to France to visit the Sisters of Providence of Ruile-sur-Loir, and Etables-sur-Mer, in Brittany, the birth place of Saint Mother Theodore Guerin.
