Biography
Sister Mary Roger was a native of Decatur, Illinois. Her final ministry was in prayer at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods.
Sister Mary Roger entered the Congregation on September 16, 1940. She professed final vows on January 23, 1949.
She graduated from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College with a bachelor’s degree in English. She also has a master’s degree in English from Indiana University.
Sister Mary Roger ministered as a teacher in Indiana, Illinois, Washington, D.C., and California. She also ministered as the Congregation’s Archives Historian from 1986 to 1996 and as the Pilgrimage Coordinator for Providence Spirituality & Conference Center from 1998 to 2007.
She is the author of “The Path Marked Out: History of the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods” Volume III.
