Biography
Sister Mary Jo is a native of Indianapolis. Currently, she is the Associate Chaplain at Scripps Mercy Hospital in Chula Vista, Calif. Prior to that, she ministered as the chaplain of St. Mary’s Medical Center in Apple Valley, California.
Sister Mary Jo, formerly Sister Mary Joel, entered the Congregation on September 12, 1966. She professed final vows on August 15, 1978.
She graduated from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She also has an associate of applied science degree in nursing from Indiana Central.
Sister Mary Jo has ministered in Indiana, Maryland, Washington, D.C., and California.
She has worked at a free clinic for Hispanic women and provided for the homeless in the Washington, D.C., area.
