Biography
Sister Joanna, formerly Sister Marie Dominic, was born Feb. 27, 1945. She died on March 4, 2015. She was 70 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 52 years.
Sister Joanna entered the Congregation on Sept. 12, 1963. She professed first vows on Aug. 15, 1966, and final vows on Oct. 26, 1969.
She ministered as a teacher at schools in Illinois beginning with St. Joseph, Lockport, in 1968. She also ministered as a principal in Illinois. Sister Joanna then served as a financial aid assistant at the Notre Dame High School for Girls, Chicago, from 2001 to 2009, before ministering as the manager of Meadows of Guerin, Inc., in Georgetown, Indiana. She returned home to the Woods in 2010.
During her time in the novitiate, she was the hostess of Twinkie parties.
