Biography
Sister Jean Anne, formerly Sister Roberta Marie, was born on December 24, 1932, in Chicago. She died on Thursday, August 23, 2018. She was 85 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 67 years.
Sister Jean Anne entered the Congregation on February 2, 1951. She professed first and final vows on August 15, 1953 and 1958, respectively.
She graduated from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College with a bachelor’s degree in education. She also earned a master’s degree in elementary education from Northern Illinois University and a master’s degree in theology from the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception in New York.
Sister Jean Ann began her teaching ministry at Holy Trinity in New Albany, Indiana. She also taught at schools in California, Illinois, Maryland, Washington, D.C., Massachusetts and other schools in Indiana. She also ministered as a pastoral associate at St. Mark Parish and St. Simeon Parish – both in Chicago – before returning to the Woods in 2003.
