Biography
Sister Elizabeth, formerly Sister Joseph Aloyse, was a native of Indianapolis. Her final ministry was in health care at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods.
Sister Elizabeth entered the Congregation in 1950, professing first vows in 1952 and final vows in 1957.
She graduated from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College with a bachelor’s degree in education. She earned her master’s degree in education from Indiana University.
Of her ministries, Sister Elizabeth taught first and second grade at St. Genevieve in Chicago from 1958-1964, while also ministering as a third and fourth grade teacher at St. James in Indianapolis from 1971-1977. She also taught fourth grade at Central Catholic in Indianapolis from 1981-1988 and served as the librarian at St. Rita School in Indianapolis from 1995-2002.
She returned to the Woods in 2006.
