Sister Dorothy Evelyn Laughlin

Sister Dorothy Evelyn was born March 6, 1922. She died on March 17, 2009. She was 87 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 66 years.

Sister Dorothy Evelyn entered the Congregation on July 19, 1942. She professed first and final vows on Jan. 23, 1945 and 1950, respectively.

Her ministry in education began in 1945 at St. Simon, Washington, Ind. She taught at other schools in Indiana, as well as schools in Illinois, California and Washington, D.C.

Her former students remembered her as a person who loved teaching and had a gentle spirit.
