Biography
Sister Donna, formerly Sister Laurence Therese, was born Donna Joan O’Neill on May 11, 1930. She died on April 22, 2009. She was 78 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 60 years.
Sister Donna entered the Congregation on July 22, 1948. She professed first and final vows on Jan. 23, 1951 and 1956, respectively.
For more than four decades, she ministered in education, beginning in 1951 at St. John, Robstown, Texas. She taught in schools in Indiana, North Carolina and Illinois. Her final ministry was as the administrator of Providence Hall from 1994 to 2001.
She was described by other sisters as being a very gracious and generous person.
