Biography
Sister Catherine Joseph was born Charlotte Alice Wilcox on Nov. 4, 1913. She died on Dec. 31, 2007. She was 94 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 68 years.
Sister Catherine Joseph entered the Congregation on Feb. 11, 1939. She professed first vows on Aug. 15, 1941, and final vows on Jan. 23, 1947.
Her teaching ministry began in 1941 at Central Catholic High School, Fort Wayne, Indiana. From 1945 to 1968, she ministered at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College as a journalism professor. From 1971 to 2004, she ministered in many publicity and communication roles at Mother Theodore Guerin High School, River Grove, Illinois.
Prior to entering the Congregation, Sister Catherine Joseph worked at the Chicago Daily News for two years.
