Biography
Sister Ann Paula is a native of Indianapolis. Currently, she ministers in prayer at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods.
Sister Ann Paula entered the Congregation in 1953. She professed first vows in 1955 and final vows in 1960. She has lived at the Woods since she was 13 as she attended the Providence Juniorate during her high school years. She said she entered the novitiate from Pensacola, Florida, because that is where her family was living at the time.
She has a bachelor’s degree from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College.
Of her ministries, Sister Ann Paula taught for 37 years, teaching in Somerville, Massachusetts; Chicago; Peru, Indiana; Indianapolis; Lafayette, Indiana; and Port Charlotte and Bradenton, both in Florida.
Her last “paying” ministry was as the activity director at Assisted Living Facility in Bradenton. She was there for eight years.
Following “retirement,” Sister Ann Paula ministered in Bradenton for the Project Light English as a Second Language program and also volunteered at the City Center for the Homeless.
Sister Ann Paula is a fan of Notre Dame football and she enjoys swimming.
“My retirement at the Woods is everything I dreamed about after the adjustment phase,” Sister Ann Paula said. “Sisters are much more open and loving. Just had the most wonderful birthday with so many acts of love from all my friends.”
