Biography
Sister Angela Rose was born Winifred Mary Halpin on Jan. 26, 1912. She died on March 12, 2006. She was 94 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 76 years.
Sister Angela Rose entered the Congregation on Aug. 20, 1929. She professed first vows on March 1, 1932, and final vows on Aug. 15, 1937.
She began her teaching ministry in 1932 at St. Joan of Arc, Indianapolis. Sister Angela Rose also taught in other classrooms in Indiana as well as teaching at schools in North Carolina, Washington, D.C., Maryland and Illinois. In 1972, Sister Angela Rose began a ministry as the coordinator of a retirement facility in St. Angela Parish, Chicago. She continued to minister in Illinois until retiring I 1987. Sister Angela Rose returned to the Woods in 1996.
She was a dedicated teacher and principal and was well loved by the sisters and students.
