Saturday, Sunday and Monday | 12:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.
The Sisters of Providence are seeking a dependable and observant Security Guard to help ensure a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for our sisters, residents, staff, and visitors during overnight weekend hours. This role is ideal for someone who values responsibility, calm decision-making, and meaningful work in a mission-driven community.
What You’ll Do
Patrol buildings, grounds, perimeter, and off-campus residences to maintain safety and security
Monitor fire protection systems and identify safety or security hazards
Respond to emergencies such as fire alarms or security incidents and assist with emergency services as needed
Prepare written reports and detailed activity logsEnforce campus rules, speed limits, and parking regulations
Provide courteous assistance to residents, staff, and visitors
Secure facilities by locking doors, managing lighting, and completing assigned security tasks
Communicate concerns or issues promptly to the Security Manager
Perform light grounds or maintenance-related tasks as needed (e.g., snow removal, safety
checks)

Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to remain calm and act effectively in emergency or high-stress situations
Team-oriented mindset and respect for working within a close-knit community
Flexibility to balance enforcement responsibilities with providing personal assistance
Commitment to and respect for the mission and values of the Sisters of Providence
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required
Prior security or law enforcement experience is helpful but not required
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to climb stairs, bend, stoop, and assist individuals when needed
Sufficient hearing and vision (with correction if needed)
Ability to manage potentially confrontational situations professionally
Possible exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids
Work Environment
This position is based in a college campus and senior living community setting. While the role is often quiet during overnight hours, it may involve responding to emergencies or interacting with uncooperative individuals.
