Information Technology (IT) Director

The Sisters of Providence are seeking a dynamic Information Technology (IT) Director to provide vision, leadership, and accountability across all aspects of our technology environment. This role supports a diverse user community of more than 165 women religious and 70 employees, ensuring technology enhances connection, service, and mission in a rapidly changing environment.

The IT Director is responsible for technology planning, adoption, service delivery, and team leadership. This individual will oversee IT operations, ensure security, foster user satisfaction, and build strong relationships across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead strategic technology planning and day-to-day IT operations.
• Supervise and develop the technology team, including performance management and recruitment.
• Oversee technology budgets, purchasing, contracts, and vendor relationships.
• Manage IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, capacity, and performance.
• Ensure exceptional help desk support, training, and overall user satisfaction.
• Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, and training initiatives.
• Identify technology needs, upgrades, and new systems to support organizational goals.
• Communicate proactively with leadership, staff, and Sisters to align technology with mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field (required).
• 10+ years of experience in information systems, with at least 4 years in IT leadership.
• Demonstrated expertise in networking, cloud computing, data centers, and IT service delivery.
• Strong communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage resources effectively, prioritize tasks, and foster collaboration.
• Experience in non-profit, religious institute, or mission/faith-based settings (preferred).
• Network and systems administration certifications (preferred).

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and maneuver equipment.
• Walk between buildings multiple times daily.
• Normal range of hearing, dexterity, and eyesight to perform technical duties.
• On-call availability for emergencies.
