Are you compassionate, dependable, and dedicated to supporting older adults? The Sisters of Providence are seeking a Healthcare Companion to accompany sisters to medical appointments and emergency room visits. This role provides emotional support, advocacy, and clear communication, ensuring each sister feels cared for, respected, and safe.
Key Responsibilities
Drive or accompany sisters to scheduled appointments and emergency visits.
Provide respectful companionship and emotional support before, during, and after visits.
Assist with check-ins, paperwork, and communication with medical professionals.
Stay with sisters during ER visits or procedures, advocating for their needs and comfort.
Ensure accurate communication of medical instructions or updates to designated caregivers.
Assist with transitions between care levels, shopping, and other supportive tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma required.
3–5 years of experience working with older adults in caregiving or companion roles.
Valid driver’s license and ability to assist individuals with mobility concerns.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with medical personnel.
Respectful of vowed women-religious life and elder care.
CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Position Details
Part-time: 20–25 hours per week.
Flexibility required for occasional after-hours and weekend needs.
Opportunity for role to expand to full-time.
