There is something special about returning to a place, and to friendships, that helped shape who you are.
Each year, alumnae from St. Rose Academy in Vincennes, Indiana, come together for their annual reunion, reconnecting with friends, sharing memories and celebrating lasting bonds created during their school days.
This year’s reunion brought alumnae together once again on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026. The day began with Mass at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

The Mass was offered in remembrance of deceased members of the Vincennes Catholic Schools community, a meaningful tradition honoring generations of teachers, students, Sisters and families who have been part of the schools’ history.
Following Mass, St. Rose alumnae gathered at the St. Francis Xavier Parish Center for a luncheon and an afternoon filled with conversation, laughter and reminiscing. Members of the St. Rose Class of ’66 served as hostesses for the gathering.
The reunion welcomed St. Rose alumnae and women from the Rivet classes of 1971, 1972 and 1973. One person traveled from as far as New York to attend.

For many, the annual event is about much more than remembering their school days. It is an opportunity to reconnect with women whose lives share a common thread of an education grounded in faith, community and the influence of the Sisters of Providence.
The annual reunion is a beautiful reminder of that legacy! Years pass, lives change, families differ, but when St. Rose alum gather for their annual reunion, those differences seem less noticeable.
Photos, memorabilia and stories help preserve the history of St. Rose, but it is the alumnae themselves who keep its spirit alive! Friendships still exist that have lasted through marriages, children, grandchildren, joy and pain, and all of the ordinary moments that make up life.

Each reunion offers another opportunity to tell those stories about favorite teaches, Sisters, adventures and experiences that made St. Rose feel like home. St. Rose was the place where they learned and prayed, made mistakes, grew, discovered their gifts and made lifelong friends.
Those connections are an important part of the larger Providence community and we are very grateful for the alumnae who continue to stay connected with each other and with the Sisters of Providence.
Are you a St. Rose Academy alumna? We would love to hear from you! Share your memories and updates and stay connected with fellow alumnae through the Sisters of Providence “Class Notes” page.
