‘A Walk with Grief,’ featuring Sister Connie Kramer
Sister Constance “Connie” Kramer, formerly Sister Marita, recently lost her battle with glioblastoma multiforme (GBM). She passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana. Sister Connie was 82-years-old and was a Sister of Providence for 60 years.

Among her many ministries, Sister Connie spent many years as a spiritual director, focusing as a grief specialist.
In one of her final acts, Sister Connie chose to speak about her final journey while sharing about life, love and loss with Christine Turo-Shields of the Kenosis Counseling Center for the StoryCorps Archive project.
It was the wish of Sister Connie and the General Council that her interview be shared publicly. Enjoy this interview with Sister Connie.

What an absolute beautiful gift left for us!! Thank you, Sister Connie, and thank you Christine!
So glad you enjoyed it Deb… It was truly my honor to capture her wisdom and preserve a bit of her spirit for all of us to hear. She was thrilled at the thought of her words being extended out into the world, so please share freely with others!
Blessings to you as you navigate this gift of grief that has been laid upon many of us since she has taken a leave of her earthly body.
Christine
Wow! I’m glad this was included in the recent SP newsletter otherwise I may have missed. S. Connie was truly amazing. Her life experience and words of wisdom brought tears to my eyes many times. She will continue to bless the SP community with her heavenly prayers and this beautiful interview.
