Come out to our Volunteer Open House

The Volunteer Services Department of the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana, will have an Open House on Wednesday, May 1, in the Foley Room of Providence Spirituality & Conference Center. Times are 11 a.m.-1 p.m., and 2-6 p.m., EDT.

The Open House is a great opportunity to learn about what volunteer opportunities we offer in a casual setting while enjoying some drinks and light snacks.

Volunteer opportunities range from working in the organic White Violet Center for Eco-Justice farm in the garden or with the alpacas and chickens, administrative support/welcome desks, I.T. programming, store assistance at the White Violet Farm Store or Linden Leaf Gifts, visiting sisters and other health care residents, assisting in our Resource Center or Providence Food Pantry, researching and writing for our Mission Advancement office, or many one-time events like Christmas Fun at the Woods, Earth Day, or the bi-annual book sales.

Most volunteer opportunities take place during regular office hours, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Volunteer Services works with individuals and volunteer groups. Do you have a sports team, club/organization, work committee, bible study or another group that would like to volunteer? We have many group opportunities year-round! The Sisters of Providence even host college alternative fall and spring break service trips.

As the Volunteer Coordinator, I will be available to answer any questions and help potential volunteers apply right there and then. The application process is quick and easy!

Feel free to call or email me with any questions about the Open House or volunteering. I can be reached at 812-535-2878 or volunteer@spsmw.org.
